Decent progress made

Hey, been a short minute there.

Had a couple really productive weeks, squished a lot of bugs and implemented stuff like enemy health scaling, multiple weapons, stat scaling, saving data, and money pickups. Really smooth sailing, even started work on getting a steam page set up. And then Monster Hunter Wilds dropped...

Sorry, but I've never had such a good time playing Monster Hunter before, and I've played many. The good news is that I'm just casually enjoying high rank grinds on occasion instead of having it consume my every free waking hour, so I'm coming out of my break on development from the past two weeks. Right now my goal is to polish up some of the basic necessities like working video options and better background music, and then get some Steam keys made to have some people do a little playtesting. Which is such a cool thing to think about, honestly. Like, 17 year old me no-lifing Dungeon Defenders with my friends back in high school would have never imagined making a game and publishing it on Steam.

To be frank, expectations are low. Like, selling even 5 units would be a huge surprise. It's more about being able to point to it and say "I did that!" as a personal achievement. I don't know if anyone needs to hear this, but don't give up on your creative dreams. If you're passionate about it, stick with it. My biggest hurdle was just not understanding code, I gave up before even trying to understand it. But you just have to get started. And you're probably going to suck at it. But sucking at something is the first step towards being sort of good at it.
